Milly from @villagebirthcoyeg could not be present at the birth but gave such thoughtful and excellent help both before and after the birth (and basically all over FaceTime and text msg, which is a real skill! All while having her own baby in the process! Women are power!)

I am so happy I had Milly along with me on my birth journey. I could not have asked for a kinder, more knowledgable and grounded support person.  She truly made me feel comfortable and confident. What I appreciated most from Milly was her knowledge about physiology and birthing. From the point I started early labour, to the final stretch, she was suggesting positions and movements that would help baby decend. My labour went smoothly, and I genuinely believe her suggestions made the difference. She used her training in Spinning Babies to guide me in early labour as well, when I was experiencing intense pubic bone pain.  Lastly- her nurturing side was greatly appreciated. She rubbed my legs and feet and offered me words of comfort throughout my journey. When I was pushing she counted with me and cheered me on. I always felt safe and supported. I hope to have her with me at my next birth as well!

I am writing this letter to recognize the great appreciation and acknowledgement I would like to give to Melissa for her hard work. Melissa loves to teach and share her passion about the role of a doula. She has volunteered her time this year since September she would come twice a month to share her expertise. She is passionate and driven and assures to always to acknowledge the importance of collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team and how we all work together to ensure best outcome for clients. I teach third and fourth year nursing students and they always provide feedback on how astonishing her presentation is. As students they are not clear on the defined role of doulas and midwives so Melissa clearly identifies that to them. She is compassionate I have seen her in her role as a doula support with her families she demonstrates a love and is so caring with her families. She is respectful and devoted to assuring that the patient is receiving the highest quality of care. I cannot say enough on how wonderful she has been to work with. We met Melissa and knew instantly we wanted her as our Doula. Calm, experienced and so supportive of our wishes. Any questions we had either she had an answer or knew where to direct us to find the answer. Though I rocked my vbac, it would not have been the same positive journey without Melissa. Her support, gentle guideance,  and knowledge filled any and all gaps that we had and allowed for a smooth and amazing journey. My husband and I can’t say enought positive things about her services and not only highly recommend but would instantly contact her again should we ever need Doula services.

Melissa was a dream come true for my husband and I. When we met her for a meet and greet we instantly connected as if we’d known each other for a long time. She provided so much ease, comfort and calmness throughout our process. She is very organized, personable and truly cares about your concerns and needs. My husband and I felt so prepared and supported throughout my pregnancy. It was SO reassuring to have someone to call during labor to guide me through until the hospital, and then swoop in and take control of everything around me so my husband and I could be present together for the arrival of our baby. I truly believe my labour was such a peaceful and empowering experience because of having her by my side. She continued to be there for us after our son was born and would answer phone calls from me crying and overwhelmed at 3am with an upset baby. Having a doula was the best experience and I recommend Melissa to every mom I meet! She is phenominal at what she does!

When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted a doula to help my husband and I through the pregnancy and delivery of our first baby. We met with Melissa and felt completely at ease about having her with us on this journey. Melissa has a contagious love for life and her dedication to helping us as expecting / new parents far exceeded our expectations. Both my husband and I could tell that in the time spent with her, she was very experienced and passionate in her profession. Her presence during my labor and delivery was calming, confident and exactly what we needed. Her communication with the doctors, nurses, as well as our excited family members was always professional and kind.

Melissa is amazing!! even 2 months after birth she still there for me even through text or call!! She is very down to earth and amazing human, she not only does her job exceptional of being there the whole 2 days of labour but she makes sure mom n dad are healthy mentally & physically raising baby whether it’s for feedings, ways of reducing stress and just overall helping to improve your lifestyle. She makes you grow into a better human being which is astonishing way more than a doula, she is passionate about babies and your family, she is the best and I wouldn’t want to change my birth any other way!

Melissa is truly amazing!! She kept me calm through out my pregnancy and my labour. She did not push her views she just supported all my decisions and gave me all the info I needed and really helped me make the right choices for me so I had my dream labour and delivery even though it was 70 hours. She stayed in contact even during the times she went home to rest. If you are looking for a doula she is totally the one for you. The doctors and nurses loved her and i adored her!!!!
